Doing Green Different

Green is more than a word. It’s a commitment to protect the environment so there’s clean air, fresh water and unblemished nature for all to enjoy - today and tomorrow. Honouring that commitment means finding different ways to do business. Ways that embrace sustainability every day.

That’s what we’re doing at the Atlantica Hotel in downtown Halifax. We’ve developed green meeting packages to help make your event environmentally friendly. We’re using 100% green electricity in our administrative offices and meeting spaces, thanks to bullfrogpower. And we sponsor I Heart Bikes, Halifax’s premier bicycle rental service.

These are some of the initiatives that have earned Atlantica Hotel Halifax a 4 Green Key designation. We will continue to reduce our environmental impact by doing business different, and greener.

Community

Making a Difference

Giving back is more than a thank you to the community that has supported you. It’s an opportunity to make your community stronger, to shape it as it has shaped you. That’s why community involvement is important to us and our staff at Atlantica Hotel Halifax. We live here, work here and our community has been vital to our success. So we look for opportunities to give back, such as:

• Through a partnership with Goldsworthy Design, we created the Atlantica Dream Suite to raise funds and awareness for Ronald McDonald House.
• We offer discounted guestroom rates to anyone who needs overnight accommodations for hospital appointments, surgeries and visits through the Atlanticare Hospital Program. We donate proceeds from these rooms to the QEII Hospital Foundation and the IWK Hospital Foundation.
• We also support a variety of charity events and organizations serving Halifax, including the Breast Cancer Foundation, United Way, Feed Nova Scotia and the Children's Wish Foundation.

We’re helping to make a difference at Atlantica in big ways and small ones. Because that’s how you keep communities healthy and strong.

Pet Policy

Pets should never ruff it

People often ask us about our pet policy at the Atlantica Hotel in downtown Halifax. Well, for starters, we don’t call them pets. They’re our guests. And we believe they’re entitled to the same comforts and pampering we offer you, but with a few important distinctions.

When you check in with your pets, we ask for their registration information so we know them by name. We offer them treat bags - our way of saying we’re happy to see them. We have a map with the best nearby places for them to stretch and socialize. And we have dishes and dog beds available to ensure they get all the TLC they deserve.

Yes, we love pets at Atlantica. So let us know you’re travelling with them so we can tell you more about our policies and make sure they enjoy their stay without any fur flying at all.
