Emergency! It’s October 30. You have no Halloween costume yet. We’ve all been there. So, what are you going to do?
Read this blog — that’s what. Luckily for you, I’ve been researching the easiest last-minute D.I.Y. Halloween costumes out there. And I’m going to share some of the best ones I’ve found, with you. This is why we love the internet!
First, a few ideas for kids…
This Starbucks drink with whipped cream is adorable and easy to put together. Bristol board, brown or white paper to go over top. The hardest part would be recreating the logo with a green marker — or hey, just print it off and paste it on! Get some white frilly material, or take an old white sheet and make it frilly for the whipped cream part. Done.
A kiddie mime. Find a striped shirt at the Salvation Army, or maybe you already have one, add some black leggings. Most people have a simple face painting kit for Halloween or grab one at the drug store. If you want to get super adorable, add a beret.
How about a scuba diver? If you’ve already got some kids gear, or older flippers, put them to use in this very easy DIY costume. Your little diver can stay warm with the black toque, as well!
Even without the crochet bear, the lumber jack costume is awesome. You can also paint on your own beard, or perhaps you have an actual beard — even better! We’ve all got a plaid shirt, or can easily find one at the thrift store. Wear some jeans, and your sturdiest work boots — or borrow some! Just maybe don’t take a real axe to parties involving alcohol!
Ladies, grab some blue clothing, find a red bandana, and before you know it, you’re Rosie the Riveter. Of course, you have to flex your muscles a lot… and have some attitude.
The scarecrow! Great for men, women or kids. Most of these items you might already have, and if not you can get straw raffia at the dollar store. Really easy face painting job, and you’re good to go.
