Holiday Event Roundup

Don’t let the holidays sneak up on you! It’s a mere six weeks until Christmas Day, and planning is fully underway for this festive season. Before you get caught off guard, here are some important holiday events happening in HRM that you might want to pencil in your calendar!

November 15-17 – Nova Scotia Designer Crafts Council Christmas Craft Show

Hit up the Cunard Centre to do some semi-early Christmas shopping and to explore designer crafts made by some of the most talented artists in the province.

Friday November 16 & December 6 – Shopping Under the Stars

Enjoy no tax, late hours, live holiday music and carollers in the Spring Garden Road Business District on these two special dates!

Saturday November 16th – The 18th Annual Chronicle Herald Holiday Parade of Lights

Don’t miss out this weekend – the Holiday Parade of Lights is already here; always great for a night out with friends or family! Head downtown with the kids in some warm clothes and grab a thermos of hot chocolate, the parade starts at 6pm. For information on the route, click here.

Saturday November 23rd – Christmas Tree Lighting in Grand Parade

This free annual event is a sure way to get into the festive spirit. There is a free live stage show for children as well. More details can be found here.

Keep an eye out for Win What You Wish – brought to you by the Downtown Halifax Business Commission. Simply take a photo of something you’d like for Christmas at any downtown business and share it via Instagram, Twitter or Facebook with the hashtag #winwhatyouwish for the chance to win big!

New Year’s Eve in Grand Parade

It’s a Halifax tradition to watch the hosts from CTV on stage in Grand Parade on December 31st. Fantastic musical acts are always on the schedule; this year enjoy headliner David Myles! Here’s the official website.
